THE LEGACY OF TITA & OSVALDO
Tita and Osvaldo, along with their two boys, Massimo and Danilo, came to the United States from Ancona, Italy, in 1973. They worked with family at Mom & Dad’s in Tallahassee until they moved to Thomasville in 1977. After 40 years of business, Mom & Dad’s Restaurant continues to thrive, thanks to its longtime customer base and loyal staff. We are a purveyor of homemade Italian recipes to Thomasville and the surrounding cities. Danilo, his wife, Anna, and their children, Anthony and Daniella, who can be found in the restaurant every morning and night, carry on that tradition. Mom & Dad’s is one of three family-owned restaurants, with a location in Valdosta, Georgia, owned by Massimo Pistelli, his wife Cindy, and his children Giuseppe and Vito, and a Mom & Dad’s restaurant in Lady Lake, Florida, owned by Danilo’s cousin Elaina Tucker and her family.

In 1992, Gerry Hubbard began Hubbard's Deer Processing. After many years of using the old family sausage recipe processing deer, he decided it was time to branch out and try the recipe with pork. He loved the pork sausage so much that in 2000, he decided to sell it year-round. Starting out with only three types of pork sausage that were hand-mixed and seasoned by Gerry's wife, Mitzi. In 2014, Adam, Gerry's son, decided to work for the family business full-time. Adam had a dream of one day opening a meat market, and in 2017 the business officially became Hubbard's Country Meats, LLC. First, they added a small meat market to the existing processing plant and began carrying various pork and beef products. In late 2019, Gerry and Adam decided it was time to expand and make a move to downtown Thomasville. The new store opened Fall 2020.

NOW OPEN! Herd + Passel is a new retail shop in the Thomasville Farmer's Market that offers locally grown pork and beef, hence the name "herd"- a group of cattle + "passel"- a group of hogs. Owner, Abby Davison, stocks the shelves with meat directly from her family's federally inspected processing facility, Thompson Farms. The pork is raised, harvested and processed at Thompson Farms in Dixie. The beef is sourced from her husband's family farm in Barwick and is also harvested and processed by Thompson Farms. The store has a variety of packaged beef and pork cuts such as (beef) steaks, roasts, ribs, brisket, ground beef and (pork) chops, ribs, butts, bacon, sausage, ham, pulled pork, ham hocks, lard, etc.

Fallin's Barbeque is a locally owned and operated restaurant. Joe Fallin, a graduate of Thomasville High School, Class of 1960, along with Mary Fallin from Miami, Fl opened the restaurant Thanksgiving of 1977. Joe always
wanted to own his own business, and the opening of Fallin’s in his hometown was the culmination of 10 years of hard work. Joe and Mary successfully operated Fallin's for over 32 years while raising 2 children, Jon and Denise. In 2009, they had to close the business due to health problems.

DogWorld’s mission was to create an off-leash paradise for dogs and their owners to safely play together and socialize. We found that most public dog parks were small, crowded space with no way to know if other dogs were vaccinated or friendly so we created a park where we could ensure all dogs were vaccinated and temperament screened.

In 1985, Jim Mellody dreamed up the idea of a family friendly restaurant, a neighborhood pub where friends and families could gather to enjoy good food and sports in a fun, comfortable atmosphere. Together, with his wife Jeanette, they embellished the Brady family name and created the now-famous Beef 'O' Brady's®. Their first sports bar and grill opened in Brandon, Florida. The regulars quickly nicknamed it "Beef's®." Inspired by a love of sports, Jim filled his restaurant with TVs and satellite dishes so patrons could enjoy watching a vast array of sporting events. He also covered the walls with authentic sports memorabilia he had collected through the years.

When our founder and CEO, Downing Barber, was living in Colorado, he travelled frequently throughout the Southwest. And while he was drawn to the openness and natural beauty of the landscape, it was the food that really won him over. Particularly the mission-style burritos.
Every aspect of the southwestern staple fascinated him. From its preparation and freshness to its nutritional value and customizability. It was then that Downing made it his goal to introduce the flavorful, healthier foods of the Southwest to all of America. So he began honing his culinary skills and perfecting recipes. Shortly thereafter, in 2000, he opened his first Barberitos in Athens, Georgia.

AJ stands for Allison and Josh. We purchased Moonspin in March of 2017 with an idea to create a happy, welcoming, service-oriented restaurant, but with very little idea what we had signed up for. Thankfully, the original owner, Lee, was a master pizza maker. She began Moonspin with a 275 year-old sour dough starter, years of experience, and a dedication to excellence.
